Fortecho began in 1996 with a single idea — protect high-value objects wirelessly, with precision. In 2000 we brought that expertise to the art world, and never looked back. Three decades on, we protect the collections of national galleries, international museums, and private foundations on every continent.
1996
Fortecho (then ISIS) founded by CEO Rob Green to track IT equipment and personnel wirelessly using Active RFID.
2000
First museum client: the National Gallery, London adopts our active, object-focused security system, built specifically for museums.
2006
Expansion into North America, partnering with prestigious cultural institutions.
2009
Fortecho Australia established, supporting major museums across the region.
2012
Advanced accelerometer technology introduced for more accurate movement detection.
2015
Environmental monitoring integrated into wireless tags, meeting conservation teams' growing need to constantly monitor temperature and relative humidity for artworks.

Expansion into the private collector market.

Our Story
For three decades, Fortecho has been dedicated to one mission: protecting the world's most valuable cultural assets.
What began with a single museum installation has grown into a trusted global partner for museums, galleries, private collectors, luxury retailers and corporate collections across Europe, North America, Australia, Asia and the Middle East.
From the very beginning, we have worked closely with conservators, curators and security professionals, developing solutions that solve real-world challenges while respecting the unique environments in which priceless collections are displayed.
As our customers' needs evolved, so did our technology. We pioneered intelligent wireless monitoring, introduced advanced movement detection, built environmental monitoring directly into our tags, and steadily expanded our software and hardware platforms to deliver increasingly powerful, flexible and reliable protection.
Unlike many companies that rely on third-party technology, Fortecho has progressively developed its own hardware and software ecosystem, giving customers a fully integrated solution designed specifically for the protection of high-value assets.
Opening offices across the globe has let us support museums locally, in their own regions, with teams who understand the market. Growth has changed our footprint, but not our approach: every project is different, and we continue to work hand in hand with our clients and partners to design solutions tailored to each collection.

Robert Green
CEO
Robert Green founded the company in 1996. He is now the driving force behind sourcing the product portfolio, building supplier relationships, developing the international sales channel, and instigating blue chip sales. Robert completed extensive research in asset tracking systems both in the UK and USA, and, with twenty years of experience in the wireless arena, predominantly active RFID and high-value asset protection, Robert is widely considered an industry expert.
Before Fortecho Solutions, Robert was sales director at multiple companies. This was preceded by a successful career in UK Equity Institutional Sales for Citicorp Scrimgeour Vickers and Smith New Court (Merrill Lynch). Robert graduated with a BA Hons in Economics from the University of York. He lives with his family in Hampshire and loves the outdoor life, particularly alpine skiing.
Mark Winsall
CTO
Mark joined Robert as technical director in 1996, and to date has been responsible for the development of the Fortecho software suite. Now based in Melbourne, Australia, Mark is the CEO of Fortecho Solutions’ subsidiary company Fortecho Solutions Pty Ltd, and he continues to direct our global development programme.
Mark completed a PhD in Astrophysics at the Australian National University in 1991. He then took up a post-doctoral research position at the University of Ghent in Belgium for two years followed by a position as a visiting fellow at the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. In 1994 he began working for ASTRA Security in Denmark, helping to create and refine early computerised video surveillance methods. In 1995 he moved to the UK as CTO to run the technology side of the business.
Mark lives with his wife and daughter on the southern edge of Melbourne, close to where he grew up. His wife is Brazilian and Mark has a keen interest in languages, having studied to become fluent and literate in Portuguese. He spends as much time with family in Brazil as possible, and when at home he enjoys bike riding, basketball coaching, gardening, and taking his dog to the beach.
Celso Prieto
Head Engineer
Celso is the lead technical engineer at Fortecho Solutions. He brings over fifteen years of experience in IT Technologies, with a focus on security and wireless systems.
Following seven years at Alstom Transport, commissioning and testing on-board systems as an IT engineer, Celso moved to Hexagon Metrology where he spent seven more years as their Engineering Project Manager. Celso had three years’ technical experience with ISIS Technology solutions in Spain while at Saident S.l. before joining the UK Fortecho Solutions team in 2012.
Celso holds a Master’s degree in Information & Communication Technology Security and an Engineering BSc in Technical Engineering in Computer Systems from The University of Catalonia. He is also a Certified Microsoft Azure Security Associate, VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization , Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP). He likes to spend his downtime enjoying nature, hiking and riding his motorbike on forest trails.
Bart Miller
Head of Commercial
Bart Miller joined Fortecho in 2019 and currently oversees UK sales and the company’s global commercial development, with a specific focus on B2B & B2C sales, marketing and business development.
Prior to joining Fortecho Bart spent six years working at Sotheby’s as a Junior Specialist in Impressionist & Modern Art. Working with world leading institutions and private collectors to expand and manage their assets.
Bart holds a Batchelors Degree in History from the University of Oxford Brookes and a diploma in Art Business from the Sotheby’s Institute, where he has also lectured. In his spare time, he is keenly involved in the art world, helping to organise shows and submitting academic articles to industry journals.
Weston Perry
USA Sales
Wes is our principal sales contact in the United States. For almost twenty years Wes has been a frontrunner in the security and surveillance market, joining Fortecho Solutions in 2014. He designed and implemented many industry firsts including Digital Video Recording systems and one of the first fully scalable / virtualized IP camera deployments in the US. Wes approaches the security and surveillance market with an accomplished business background. He founded successful technology and consulting companies (including Image Bi and Pixel Intel) and led venture-funded and start-up technologies into the security and surveillance space.
Detailing the cost and potential value of these technologies has helped Wes develop relationships at the executive management level in many organisations, and he has partnered with the Las Vegas William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada to donate technology for research and education through the Institute of Gaming. As an adjunct professor he lectured students and groups across the globe on the development of various video technologies and the impact of these technologies in today’s business environments. He lives in San Diego, California, with his wife and daughter.
Jon Harris
Head of Development
Jon joined us in 2008 with a mandate to modernise and innovate our software product architecture, from the User Interface to the data backend.
Prior to his time with Fortecho he spent 8 years in the City of London working in high-net-worth investment data at all scales from small family stockbrokers to multi-nationals.
Jon holds a BSc Hons in Physics and Computing from the Joule Physics Laboratories. He lives in London with his family, with whom he enjoys travel, theatre and the arts.
Bettina Dixon
Sales - Germany, Austria, Scandinavia
Bettina Dixon joined Fortecho Solutions in 2019 as Project Manager. A native German speaker, Bettina manages our global project success and German business development.
Prior to Fortecho, Bettina was an Associate Specialist in the Impressionist & Modern Art Department at Sotheby’s for five years and has held positions at Marlborough Fine Art.
Bettina holds a distinction in History of Art from Bristol University.
Philippe Rambert
Sales Manager EMEA
Philippe, originally from France, joined Fortecho in 2025 as Sales Manager for EMEA. Driven by a lifelong passion for art—instilled by his father and strengthened by his technical expertise—he is dedicated to helping clients protect and preserve their most valuable artworks.
Before joining Fortecho, Philippe spent seven years in the art-security sector in commercial leadership roles, gaining extensive hands-on experience with artwork protection technologies, risk mitigation, and client advisory for museums and cultural institutions. Previously, he spent five years at Apple as a Business Expert, further developing his ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear, tangible value for customers.
Philippe holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Melbourne and a Master’s degree from Montpellier Business School. He lives with his family in the south of France, where he enjoys his favorite pastime, kitesurfing.
Valentin Chabbert
Senior Systems Integration Engineer
Valentin, originally from France, joined Fortecho in 2025 as a Senior Systems Integration Engineer. He brings seven years of experience in the protection of artworks, spanning technical roles, project management, and the leadership of electronic security solutions across France and Europe. His deep expertise in IT, networking, and telecommunications supports museums and cultural institutions in safeguarding their collections.
Before joining Fortecho, Valentin oversaw solution design and implementation in the art protection sector, specialising in client support, technical studies, project deployments, and user training. His background enables him to bridge advanced technical systems with operational requirements, ensuring robust and reliable protection for high-value collections.
Valentin holds a bachelor’s degree in Wireless and High-Speed Networks from the IUT Saint-Jérôme in Marseille and a BTS in Digital Systems with a focus on IT and Networking from Avignon. He lives in the south of France and is passionate about mountain sports, alpine skiing, and emerging technologies.
